Daniel Berkov-Hopkins is a songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and voice actor based in Los Angeles, California.
He has been composing music for 15 years, playing live improv accompaniment for such groups as Spectacles Improv Engine and Puppet Mayhem, and has recorded much of his own music for the rock/metal band Brother Daniel and the Black Sheep and the synthpop/industrial project The Lazarus Gene. Since 2007 he has been performing musical-vaudeville comedy across the country, which has included performances at The Magic Castle (with FreakShow Deluxe) and Anime Expo (with Vincent Wolf). In 2012 he performed as a composer, musician, and actor at South Coast Repertory (Costa Mesa) with Los Angeles-based clown group Four Clowns in their production of Robin Hood. He has also composed theme and incidental music, including the title theme of the podcast “We’re Alive” (part of the Nerdist Network).
He is available for improv accompaniment, commissioned songwriting, composing, recording, arranging, and production.
